My friend, Louise, and I were on Holiday in Halmstad in June ’99. We were
staying at The Hotel Tylösand, not so much coz Per owns it, more coz we wanted
to have some luxury around us.
It was late in the afternoon, and we were swimming in the indoor pool. Louise
normally wears glasses, but she can’t swim with them, so she couldn’t really see
much.
We were taking a little break from swimming, just standing at the side of the
pool, and we were joking about that I could tell her that Per was outside,
without it being true, coz she couldn’t see anything.
A few minutes later I looked out the window to Solgĺrden, where people were
having their after beach drink, and what did I see; a haircut I really thought I
had seen before. And there he was, just outside the window, talking to some
business men, showing them the area.
I told Louise and first she of course didn’t believe me, coz we had been joking
about it just a few moments before, but then she realised that I was serious.
So we half jumped, half swam through the pool and ran to the dressing rooms, to
change into some clothes.
Very wet, coz we didn’t want to waist time drying, we ran out of the pool area
door, and in to the hall. The embarrassing thing was that just outside the door
stood Per with his business men, and he was showing them a painting or something
on the wall right beside the door, we came running out of. When we jumped out
the door, he stopped speaking for a second and just looked amazed at us. He
stood completely still for a moment, and when we realised how embarrassing it
was, I wanted to get away quickly, so I started walking to the elevator, but
instead I almost run into a lady I didn’t see, and we both get a little chock.
After this embarrassing moment, we went to our room to get our cameras. Then we
go back down, and finds Per at the little gallery in the hotel talking business
with the men. We didn’t want to disturb him, so we sat down outside and waited
for him.
After a while he comes out and we asked for pix. Sure he said, and we took a
few.
As Louise should take one of me & Per together the next embarrassing moment
comes.
I had just got a new camera, and Louise didn’t know exactly how to function it,
so when she can’t get it to work Per says to her: “You didn’t turn it on”, so
she was trying to take a picture with the cam off. When she then tried to take a
pic with the cam on, she pushes the button and forgets to wait till the camera
actually took the picture, so when she takes the camera down, it shoots a
picture of the roof. So she has to try again, and this time a picture is
actually taken.
It was quite embarrassing, but hey, I don’t complain, coz all this time, Per was
standing very close to me, with his arm around me….:-)
