The Daily Roxette

Marie Fredriksson Online

The Fredriksson Express

Jennifer Brim (USA)
I heard about the concert on the radio, a Seattle station called Star 101.5. Every year they have a "listener appreciation concert" and the only way to get in is to call in and win a contest, be the 101st caller. Well that is impossible, for the zillions of times I've tried to do that I've never even gotten through let alone be a certain caller number. So I called up my very good friend Shari who works for the station, and she managed to get me two tickets, but could not go with me. So I brought my other friend Mindy, and the two of us had a real blast. It was in October 2000, at Seattle's Experience Music Project, right below the space needle. The EMP is a music museum built by Paul Allen, (Bill Gates's sidekick) in tribute to American Music. It's really cool, and they have a small concert spot called Sky Church that is ideally acoustically built, and has amazing jaw dropping lighting and sound. I was able to capture some of the neato lighting in my pictures. There were only 220 people allowed in to see Roxette, so I got to get really close to take these pictures. I got to meet Roxette after the concert, and get their autograph on a poster and an 8x10 photograph. I was so excited to meet them! I thought about all the things I wanted to say to them, all the songs of theirs I love. I was the fourth person in line. I was in so much shock to be standing in front of them, all I could say was "I'm your biggest fan!". I wanted to slap myself for saying such a dumb thing, and forgetting to say all the other things I wanted to say. I was in shock the whole rest of the night. I got to shake their hands!!! If I could change one thing in my life by going back in time, I would say something more intelligent than "I'm your biggest fan!" when I meet them!
