Angie Perrault (USA) |
Just got back from seeing Roxette in Nashville this evening. What an amazing
day. It could not have gone any better.
I got to Nashville around 1pm and a friend and I went to Tower Records. They had
the new US Roxette Greatest Hits CD of course so I bought my copy. We hung out
in Nashville for a while and ate at Hard Rock Café. Afterwards, we decided to
walk to 328 Performance Hall and check it out. It was absolute fate that by the
time we got there Per and Marie (and Clarence) were standing outside behind the
hall! Luckily I was prepared for such and event! I whipped out my camera, my
trusty Sharpie and Roxette The Book for them to sign. I said, "Hur Mår Du?" to
Marie and she said "Oh you speak Swedish!" I said, "Yeah I studied it for almost
3 years at the University of Minnesota". At this point I was shaking so bad my
friend afterwards told me she thought I was going to pass out. She handed my
book to Per and he signed it and when she gave the Sharpie back to me, my hand
was shaking so bad I accidentally wrote on my shirt!! I hope they didn't notice.
Then I asked if I could have my picture with them and Marie said "Sure!" They
were both so nice. Then I said, "Tack så mycket" and Per said "Tack" and Marie
said "Tack ska du ha".
Later we got in line for the show. We were about 12 people back in line. This
worked out just perfectly because we just made the cut for getting in the front
row which was RIGHT NEXT TO THE STAGE! We were the only row up on a raised
platform and we had a gate to lean on that was just the right height. And we
didn't have anyone behind us pushing. There were 3 artists who came on before
Roxette, including No Authority (I was really glad at that point that we were up
on the platform). During the whole show in between bands people were shouting
Roxette, Roxette, Roxette! There were a lot of people there to see them. They
came out and did Wish I Could Fly, It Must Have Been Love, Joyride, Perfect Day,
Listen to Your Heart, and The Look. Then they did Church of Your Heart as an
encore! It was great. A lot of people were hoping they would come out and sign
autographs afterwards, but the word was they left as soon as they were done. I
was really thankful I had the chance to meet them before the show.
I took lots of pic during the concert (I hope they turn out, I have bad luck
with my camera at concerts). I'll let you know when I get them back and I will
post them.
Off to dreamland now!
